In a “perfect world” the purpose of Mass Media (radio, TV, newspapers, magazines, internet) is to provide the audience with truthful, unbiased information.

In our “real world” Mass Media is used to influence the specific behavior of audience members (see Propaganda).

If the specific behavior being sought is support for, or opposition to, a particular political position, person, or party, then the content of the message will be carefully chosen. Some facts will be excluded if they do not support the agenda so that only supportive, or opposing, information on a given subject will be broadcast or printed.

For example this blog exists to draw attention to the profoundly harmful influence of Liberal doctrine in American politics. Content is chosen accordingly.

Each audience member is responsible to choose who gets their attention. Individuals must be aware of the ever present bias which accompanies presented information.
