THE DEATH OF DEATH

Christianity is defined by the Holy Bible.
The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is The Son. He is one of the three identities of God. (The other two are: The Father and The Holy Spirit.)
Jesus is both God and Man. He is the human form taken by God as a way to communicate with mankind.
The ruling religious and political powers at the time of Christ did not like him. They executed him.
Jesus uttered seven statements before succumbing to the slow death brought-on by crucifixion. In these words even the skeptic can see the compassion of Christ:
- “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” — Luke 23:34.
- (To a man being crucified alongside him.) “Today you will be with me in paradise.” –Luke 23:43.
- (To his Mother:) “Behold your son.”, and, (to John, one of his followers) “… behold your mother.” –John 19: 26,27.
- “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” — Matthew 27:46. (To God The Father as he experienced the unthinkable hopelessness of being separated from God.)
- “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” — Luke 23:46
- “I thirst.” — John 19:28
- “It is finished.” — John 19:30.
After Jesus died his lifeless body was taken from the cross and buried in a cave with a massive rock blocking the entrance.
Today is the day Christianity has traditionally designated as the day to remember what happened three days after Jesus spoke his seven final sayings. Jesus came back from the dead! He conquered the power of Death! All who believe in him now will live forever.
The fundamental message of Christianity is that while death is the certain result of disobedience of God, Jesus Christ defeated Death when he rose again from the dead.
The Good News of Christianity is that whoever believes in Jesus will not perish, but will have everlasting life.
“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found. Call ye upon him while he is near.” Isaiah 55:6
It is between you and God. You do not need any human assistance from any person or church. Seek the LORD and ask for the cancer of unbelief to be removed from you. Ask, Seek, Knock. Perhaps God will exchange your unbelieving heart for a new one, enabling you to believe.
