Comparing facts with perceptions of, and reaction to, those facts can be very interesting, especially if the Liberal press is involved.

Here’s an example.

In an article, appearing today, the Associated Press published this assessment of President Trump’s position on immigration:

“President Donald Trump is continuing his habit of painting immigrants as criminals, highlighting gang connections, calling family reunification a national security threat and bemoaning the death of a pro football player involved in a car accident with a man living in the country illegally.” — Jill Colvin (AP)

Now, here are some facts regarding crime by illegal immigrants:

9% of U.S. residents are here illegally, yet they represent 27% of inmates in federal prisons. 55,322 criminal aliens had been arrested 459,614 times, an average of 8.3 arrests per illegal alien, and had committed almost 700,000 criminal offenses, an average of roughly 12.7 offenses per illegal alien!

Clearly a disproportionate percentage of aliens pose a problem for public safety, yet the Associated Press characterizes the President’s efforts to deal with the problem as a bad thing, an act of racist inspired prejudice.
