* The amount of our time the Holy Bible says should be devoted to rest from the labors of life. One day in seven to be spent reflecting upon deeper, spiritual meanings of our existence. God commands one day be spent resting from daily, secular labors.
Consider this spiritual lesson from the Holy Bible:
Leprosy resists any and all medical treatment. It progresses despite any care Man can offer.
A man plagued by leprosy came to see Jesus. He believed Jesus could heal him.
Jesus reached out and touched the man. Immediately the man was healed.
Leprosy represents Man’s irresistible tendency to disobey God. This tendency is also known as “Sin”.
Sin bars the way to Heaven (Eternal perfection in the presence of God the Father). Sin leads to Hell (Eternal separation from God). To die without ever coming to Jesus is to perish.
Only Jesus can cleanse from sin. No one can enter Heaven without first coming to Jesus.
This simple story of a suffering man with leprosy represents the Christian Gospel.
Jesus says to all people today: “… him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
Of all religions only Christianity offers the Way to Heaven, the Truth of life’s purpose, and the Life which never ends. (Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.) –The Gospel of John, chapter 14, verse 6, King James Version.
The lyrics of the following hymn offer another expression of the same Christian Gospel…
