GOP DOES NOT WANT TRUMP TO BE THE NOMINEE.

The GOP is nervous about Trump’s popularity.
They see 3 ways Trump can be stopped from becoming the nominee:
- Cruz, Rubio, or Kasich win the 1,237 delegates needed to secure the nomination going in to the convention. (This is a long shot, not likely to happen.)
- Keep Trump from getting the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination by keeping the field well-populated. Splitting the delegates 4-ways makes it harder for Trump to win.
- This is the final option and it is ugly. Called a “Brokered Convention”, or a “Contested Convention.” Not since 1948 has the GOP resorted to this desperate maneuver.
The Contested Convention begins and a First Ballot is called for. All delegates won prior to March 15 MUST vote for the candidate to whom their state voters gave the most votes in their state Primary, or Caucus. Delegates won after March 15 can vote however they choose. IF THE FIRST BALLOT DOES NOT GIVE ANY CANDIDATE 1,237 VOTES THEN A SECOND BALLOT IS CALLED FOR. From here on all delegates are free to vote however they choose. Chaos ensues until the third, fourth, or umpteenth ballot finally gives 1,237 minimum votes to a candidate!
The Liberals will delight to see a brokered convention because it makes their opponent look divided and unfocused.
Many say that if the nomination is stolen from Trump by the GOP’s manipulative wrangling (assuming he maintains a commanding lead in delegate count) there will be a revolt.
In an Indirect Democracy like the U.S. it is not always the expressed desire of the voters that determines who takes the White House. Convention Delegates (1,237+) and the Electoral College (270+) choose the POTUS.
The GOP finds itself opposed to it’s own strongest candidate. Whatever they do to weaken that candidate (Trump) reduces any advantage Conservatism might have over Liberalism/Socialism.
The majority of voting Republicans want Trump to get in the ring with Hillary. The GOP power brokers, and the Liberals, prefer Cruz, or Rubio, or Kasich, someone Other Than Trump (OTT) to fight Hillary.
In the words of Dennis Miller: If only Romney and the GOP had gone after Obama the way they are going after Trump.
Register and vote against Liberal/Socialist politicians and doctrine.
