CHRISTMAS 6 of 7–WHY?

The Holy Bible does not specify what constitutes a proper Christmas holiday. The Christmas holiday is a human construct, not a sacrament, duty, or obligation. To study the specifics of the Christmas holiday is to study human history and tradition.
As to why the holiday exists, the answer lies in the history of the Christian church, not in the Bible.
After 300 years of development following the birth of Jesus Christ followers wanted a holiday near the Winter solstice. Other religions all had such times of festivals and celebrations. Christians had nothing.
The precise Biblical accounts of the events leading up to the birth of Jesus Christ was established as the focus of what would become Christmas.
So, when asked why Christians observe a gala season-long celebration of Christmas, the answer can only be that it commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God who is fully Man and fully God, That birth was foretold by Old Testament prophets and precisely detailed by New Testament writers.
Jesus’ birth took place in Bethlehem, in Judea, in the spring or summer of the year 6 or 7 AD. LIberty was taken with the actual chronology by the leaders of the early Christian church, who were zealous to establish a Winter festival. It became accepted that the holiday would be December 25.
The birth of Jesus Christ is unsurpassed in importance to Christian doctrine regarding a timeless relationship between Man and God. If the Son of God had not taken upon himself a human body and come to Earth as a baby in a feeding trough in Bethlehem, it would not be possible for any person to be restored to friendship with God. All humans would perish as enemies of God. There would be no hope of salvation.
The gospel of Christianity is the good news that a way of salvation has been made. Whosoever believes in Jesus Christ shall not perish, but have everlasting life!
Why celebrate Christmas? The answer is simple. . . to rejoice at the glad tidings voiced by the angel of the Lord who came to Bethlehem to proclaim, “FEAR NOT: FOR, BEHOLD I BRING YOU GOOD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY, WHICH SHALL BE TO ALL PEOPLE. FOR UNTO YOU IS BORN THIS DAY IN THE CITY OF DAVID A SAVIOR, WHICH IS CHRIST THE LORD.”
