In reality, you should be able to demand one ounce of gold for every paper dollar you have. Imagine the buying power you would have if each of your dollars was worth $1,923!

Sorry, but rather than one dollar getting you $1,923 in goods or services, you actually get just a fraction of a penny worth! It takes a wheelbarrow-full of paper money to buy groceries. Buying power is in the toilet and about to go down the drain.
