Joebama Biden is driving the price of gas through the roof to force us to go electric.
Here are some facts about batteries for electric cars:
Weight: 1000 lb.
Contents: 25 lb lithium, 60 lb nickel, 44 lb manganese, 30 lb cobalt, 200 lb copper, and 400 lb aluminium/steel/plastic, 6,000 individual lithium-ion cells.
Mining requirements to produce raw material to make one battery: 25,000 lb for the lithium, 30,000 lb for the cobalt, 5,000 lb for the nickel, and 25,000 lb for copper. All told, you dig-up 500,000 lb of the earth.
The equipment to dig-up all the raw materials is powered by diesel fuel. Each huge machine burns half-a million gallons of diesel per year. Each mine uses at least 35 such machines. For example, each lithium mine burns 17.5 million gallons of diesel per year.
Human rights abuses and environmental degradation are directly connected to mining exotic minerals and metals required to make electric vehicle batteries.
What if Joe succeeds and everyone in America buys an electric car which costs one year’s average annual income? Probably global devastation.
