A nominee for the Supreme Court of the United States has now advanced to a full Senate vote after the Judiciary Committee reached a deadlock.

This nominee offered the following written answer to a question asked of her during those committee hearings: “I do not hold a position on whether individuals possess natural rights,…”

That is a clear and bold rejection of the Declaration of Independence which declares, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.“

This nominee does not agree with a founding document which says natural rights are “self evident truths”.

In a logical world this nominee would be summarily discharged as a candidate for her statement.

In today’s America this nominee has a better-than-even chance of being given a lifetime appointment to the land’s highest court. Even a couple of non-Democrat Senators have indicated they support the nominee.

Such an appointment will represent the fruition of the Democrat’s ongoing effort to fundamentally transform America.
