HISTORY IS NO LONGER A RECORD OF THE PAST

It is interesting to consider what happens to the monuments and statues that the Left is surrendering to the Woke side, to be removed from public display.
A grand, bronze statue of Robert E. Lee was pulled-down from its (white) marble pedestal by Black Lives Matter folks in July of 2021. The City Council of Charlottesville, Virginia promised the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center they could “… transform a national symbol of White supremacy into a new work of art that will reflect justice and inclusion.” [From an article by Jeremy Black in Vol. 40, No.6 of The New Criterion.]
Was the Civil War that easy to define? Was it simply a matter if two views of slavery? If not, then we are watching history being perverted to promote a false narrative.
We are replacing a solid foundation with shifting sand.
How far into the future must we go before the vegetarians destroy all monuments honoring meat-eaters, or pacifists destroy the tomb of the unknown soldier, or Protestants extinguish the flame on JFK’s grave?
