Why would a mega-rich philanthropist donate millions to companies in the information/entertainment/media industry?
It seems obvious that there must be a desire to influence the opinions held by those who choose to be exposed to the message from those companies.
Bill Gates has donated $300M to the largest, most popular of the media companies.
George Soros has also donated millions to the mainstream media companies.
There is a common narrative shared by the media leaders in America. That narrative creates certain perceptions about any given subject, for example:
The CCP virus is potentially the end of mankind, and the only way to save us all is for the government to be given unquestioned authority to do whatever it deems best for America;
Kyle Rittenhouse is a psychotic, murderous, White Supremacist who escaped justice thanks to a systemically racist judicial system;
the November 2020 election was totally secure, accurate, and 100% free of any irregularities. Joe Biden received 81-million legitimate votes;
Donald Trump is a Russia-sponsored operative who defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election by using illegal tactics. (This narrative endures even though the results of the two-year, multi-million dollar investigation by the FBI yielded zero proof of any such activity).
It’s impossible for a critically-thinking person to accept the mainstream media’s narrative.
Why do so many big-money folks support a false narrative?
