The Senate voted yesterday to decide the fate of the Impeachment of The President who is not The President.

Impeachment is a Constitutional process to deal with charging a sitting President with certain crimes.

The President who is not The President is being charged with the high crime of Insurrection in the assault on the Capitol building on January 6, 2020.

The possibility of such an assault was recognized beforehand by the Trump administration. The Mayor of D.C. was offered a sizeable detachment of National Guard troops to prevent any such activity… she refused the offer.

The unlawful intrusion by demonstrators did happen. Multiple deaths and injuries were incurred. The President who is not The President is now being charged with that criminal act… the one for which his offer to help prevent was refused.

Absurd as it is, the Impeachment process has officially begun. The Senate launched the proceedings by voting whether to authorize continuing the action or to stop it.

There are 100 Senators. 50 Senators are Democrats (or Independents who vote Democrat). 50 Senators are Republican (the party of the former President). If there was ever a party line vote this had to be it. The expected outcome was 50 Yea, and 50 Nay votes with the Senate President (Kamala Harris) casting the deciding vote.

The vote was actually 56 Yea, and 44 Nay. Six members of the party of The President who is not the The President being charged with the very incident he tried to prevent joined with the opposition and voted to impeach THEIR OWN MAN!

If the Republican party does not censure the defectors then, clearly, something is not as it should be.

If you are reading this as an American you probably are a voter. Remember these six Senator’s names… Cassidy (LA); Collins (ME); Murkowski (AK); Romney (UT); Sasse (NE); Toomey (PA). These six helped keep the Kangaroo Court going.
