MASKS EVERY TIME EVERYONE!!

The good folks at LIBERTY NATION make a compelling argument about the efficiency of rules and regulations as a problem solving method.
When an issue causes negative impact on society the government’s knee-jerk solution is Restriction and Regulation.
Take Covid19 for example. People who accept the current Draconian measures say that those who do not follow them are preventing success in gaining total control of the virus. So the conclusion is that unmasked and/or socializing people are causing the continued spread of the virus.
If valid, then applying that same logic to gun violence should eliminate crimes and accidents involving firearms. If everyone would just sell-back their guns and never buy another one then gun violence would no longer exist.
Oops! That argument IMMEDIATELY gets hopelessly buried under an avalanche of verified, factual historical data. Places with the most strict rules and regulations (about gun ownership or about mask wearing) have the most occurrences of the problem. Like the original bumper sticker said, “WHEN GUNS ARE OUTLAWED, OUTLAWS WILL STILL HAVE GUNS.”
Government regulations are not always logical, not always advisable, not always appropriate, and certainly not always consistent with reality.
