Atlanta Police got a call regarding a public disturbance. Read more HERE.
Upon arrival they detained a large male suspect and administered a blood-alcohol test which showed levels exceeding the legal limit.
The suspect physically assaulted the officers and refused to comply with their lawful orders.
While attempting to gain control the officer’s Taser was taken from its holster by the suspect who fled the scene now armed with an incapacitating weapon.
Officers were pursuing on foot when the suspect turned and aimed the Taser at them.
The officers shot and killed the suspect.
Body cameras show the officers were respectful and fully compliant with both police procedure and citizen’s rights during the incident. They escalated force appropriately in response to aggravated assault by the suspect.
End of story? A simple case of a man making a fatal mistake? Oh no!
The suspect was Black.
Atlanta is now burning while protesters raid and loot at will.
Q: If the suspect had been other than Black would the reaction to his unfortunate but lawful death have been different? Do only Black lives matter?
